Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and worship leader Ricardo Sanchez is having a great year — on the heels of his 2010 Grammy nomination, Sanchez has received two 2010 GMA Dove Award nominations for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. Sanchez collaborated with Israel Houghton to co-write the title song from Houghton's 2010 Grammy-winning project, The Power of One. Sanchez also co-wrote "Every Prayer" for the project, along with Houghton, Aaron Lindsey and Dayna Caddell. In addition to his two Dove nominations, Sanchez has received a Grammy nomination for co-writing "Every Prayer." "Ricardo has been one of my closest friends for nearly fifteen years," says Houghton. "His ability to communicate relevantly to young and old through great musical skills and transparent cross-cultural worship makes him such a refreshing gift to the church community. I'm glad to call him a friend and a colleague."An Integrity Music recording artist, Sanchez has released four albums, most recently Power Of The Cross in 2009. Formerly Worship Leader at Free Chapel in Gainesville, Ga., a 14,000-member congregation known for its dynamic worship music and its "Kingdom Connection" telecast with Pastor Jentezen Franklin, Sanchez is in demand as a worship leader and inspirational speaker at churches and conferences across the country. His songs are sung in churches all over the world and have been recorded by Houghton, Grammy winner Hezekiah Walker and Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church, to name just a few.The 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held Wednesday, April 21 at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House and will be televised nationwide on The Gospel Music Channel Sunday, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
